Empowering Women to Fight Poverty (PPMK)

This is the program that Jack set up in Indonesia to empower poor women and their children, funding it with his veteran's benefits. PPMK envisions, as did Jack, a world where women and children are free of poverty. Its mission includes microcredit to finance small businesses, health programs and scholarships.

For those who want to keep his cause going, Jan Houbolt (Jack's life long friend) has set up a nonprofit in the US to fund PPMK, Overcoming Poverty Together (OPT). It is fully tax deductible with IRS approved 501 C-3 status. If we can raise $15,000+ per year which is not that much really, the program can continue fully staffed with revolving loan fund for micro businesses, milk program, plastic recycling business, etc.
